Virginia Beach, Va. – (July 16, 2026) – Beginning next month, North America’s first Wavegarden Cove surf lagoon will help kick off a landmark series of surfing events that will cement Virginia Beach as the capital of East Coast surfing, including the East Coast Surfing Championships, Surf Park Summit, Super Girl Festival and back-to-back regional surfing tournaments.

Since opening last August, Atlantic Park Surf has become a transformative epicenter for surfing and entertainment, welcoming thousands of visitors from around the world. Most recently, it hosted Stab High Virginia Beach. The record-breaking event–the first to be held in the U.S. since 2019–brought together 56 professional surfers and nearly 3,500 spectators over two days of competition. The surf park has also established partnerships with world-renowned brands, including Dryrobe, Kona Big Wave, Rip Curl, SunBum, Toyota, U.S. Navy, Xtratuf and YETI, elevating the visibility of Virginia Beach’s surf culture.

Atlantic Park Surf welcomes its second annual Chlorine Clash Invitational, featuring eight of the top-qualifying series surf competitors of the World Surf League.
