Nine events across nine countries, Regional Finals and a live World Final make up the provisional Wavepool Surf Tour schedule for 2026–202

Press Release from The Wavepool Surf Tour:

The Wavepool Surf Tour has released its provisional 2026–2027 schedule, setting out an international season spanning Europe, Asia Pacific, the Americas, China and the Middle East.

The announcement comes less than a month after the Tour launched its first event. The Alaïa Surf Challenge at Alaïa Bay in Sion, Switzerland, is already underway, with surfers from around the world competing across the divisions and submitting rides to the Wavepool Surf Tour Leaderboards.

From Switzerland To The World

Following the Alaïa Surf Challenge, Ride The Future takes place from 13 November to 13 December 2026 as a specialty event, followed by a short break before the 2027 schedule kicks in February/March.

O₂ Surftown MUC in Munich follows in March/April, with Atlantic Park Surf in Virginia Beach in April/May. Lost Shore Surf Resort in Edinburgh takes the May/June window, followed by Surfers Cove in Óbidos, Portugal, in June/July. The second half of the season moves through the Americas in July/August, China in August/September and the Middle East in September/October, with several venues still to be announced.

“We’re proud to unveil our provisional 2027 WPST schedule and take another major step towards building a truly global wavepool surfing tour,” said Mark Fessler, Wavepool Surf Tour Founder. “With events planned across multiple regions and some incredible venues involved, 2027 is shaping up to be a very exciting year for WPST.”

Commitment. Creativity. Control.

The main Tour events will run across extended competition windows, with surfers competing at the designated wave pools and submitting their rides through the WPST platform. Competition spans Open, Junior, Grom, Masters, Legends, Longboard, Bodyboard and Adaptive divisions, with performances judged through WPST’s Triple C criteria of Commitment, Creativity and Control.

The range of venues also brings different wave technologies into the Tour, making the individual characteristics of each pool a competitive variable rather than simply a change of location.

Regional Finals And World Final

Following the Middle East event in September/October, the WPST Regional Finals are scheduled for November 2027, with qualified surfers progressing to the final stage of the season.

The Wavepool Surf Tour World Final follows in November/December 2027. With 176 surfers eligible for the World Final across the divisions, the live event will represent the largest concentration of WPST competitors in one place during the season, with Wavepool Surf Tour World Titles at stake and the competition broadcast live to an international audience.

All dates and locations remain provisional and subject to change, with further venue announcements to follow.
