Sustainable Surf is a 501c3 non-profit based in California. Our mission is to regenerate the health of our Ocean Planet. We believe the ocean is the hero of our story – to boost biodiversity, support local communities, and reverse climate change. To help enable these superpowers, Sustainable Surf’s programs, SeaTrees and The ECOBOARD Project, work to plant, protect, and restore coastal ecosystems, while also activating people to live a more sustainable, ocean positive life.
Sustainable Surf was founded in 2011 when co-founders Michael Stewart and Kevin Whilden saw an opportunity to use the global appeal of surf culture to create a positive vision for a more sustainable future.
SeaTrees Program
Through this program, we work with local communities around the world to plant, protect, and restore coastal ecosystems to reverse
climate change.
The Ecoboard Project
The Ecoboard Project is designed to help individuals choose a high-performance sustainable surfboard made with the latest advancements in green chemistry and renewable materials, that can dramatically reduce the surfboard’s environmental impact.
