Aventuur, an international developer of surf-anchored destinations, has several updates on projects that range from Australia and New Zealand to Jacksonville, Florida.
The team shared these updates with Surf Park Central:
Perth
Location: Prinsep Road in Jandakot, Western Australia
Estimated opening: The end of 2027
The park aims to be the first surf park located in Western Australia, just. outside of Perth. The surf-anchored destination and the developer made headlines when they discussed the importance of working with longtime legacy brands, such as Rip Curl.
“We share Rip Curl’s commitment to fostering authentic community and sustainability,” Andrew Ross, chairman and chief development officer for Aventuur told Surf Park Central in 2024. “Together, we plan to collaborate on a variety of events at the Perth Surf Park, including surfing competitions, community activations, and demo days.”
Visitors to Perth will also find the surf park has a focus on wellness and has partnered with RCVRI, a leading recovery destination in the country.

What’s new from Aventuur: After securing project funding in 2025, we’ve now mobilised to site and are undertaking preparatory works, ahead of formally commencing construction in a few months’ time. We’re planning to be producing first waves in our 62-module Wavegarden Cove (equal largest in the world) in Q327, and opening the Perth Surf Park to the public in Q427.
Auckland
Location: 1350 Dairy Flat Highway, Silverdale, Auckland 0794, New Zealand
Estimated opening: 2028
New Zealand’s Auckland Surf Park has a big focus on sustainability. It includes a solar farm and will use the excess heat to keep the surf lagoon heated.
In Auckland, our master plan includes a co-located 5mW solar farm and a Spark data center,” Richard Duff, Aventuur’s co-founder and CIO told Surf Park Central. “We’re planning to harness excess heat from the data center (to be powered by renewable energy, including on-site generation from the solar farm) to warm the surfing lagoon year-round – which is a world-first.”
The site also later added a residential community as part of the growing demand for housing at surf-anchored real estate developments.

What’s new from Aventuur: We commenced construction on the community in 2025, and have been referred under the NZ Government’s Fast Track process to add additional components to the masterplanned community, including a town centre, residential homes, expanded data centre and a surfing members’ clubhouse. We’re planning to commence construction on the Auckland Surf Park element of the community in late 2026, ahead of opening in 2028.
Jacksonville
Location: 11374 Etown Parkway, Jacksonville, FL
Estimated opening: 2028
Jacksonville Surf Park is planned for the eTown community of South Jacksonville, Florida.
The community is a master-planned development featuring mixed uses, including residential, retail, and recreational spaces. Organizers behind the master planned development describe the park as part of their overall “vision of creating a vibrant, sustainable community that fosters outdoor recreation, wellness, and connection.”

What’s new from Aventuur: After securing project funding and purchasing the land in 2025, we’re progressing detailed design of the Jacksonville Surf Park. We’re planning to commence construction later in 2026, ahead of opening in 2028.
