American Wave Machines Is Building A Surf Pool In Brazil

American Wave Machines just announced they’re building a Perfect Swell pool as a part of a 370 acre Boa Vista Village project near São Paulo, Brazil. While there aren’t many details online just yet, this is from their Instagram:

“American Wave Machines, Inc. (AWM) announces PerfectSwell® Boa Vista with licensed partner JHSF in Brazil. The surf pool will be nearly twice as large as the PerfectSwell® installation in Waco, Texas. In addition to residential land plots, Golf Residences and other future developments, the first phase project includes The Surf Lodge Hotel and The Surf Lodge Residences designed by renowned architects Sig Bargamin and Pablo Slemenson.

“Part of the Boa Vista Village offering to residents is an 18 hole golf course signed by Rees Jones, elected one of the top 5 golf course designers by Golf Digest, as well as an impressive tennis structure and arena for international tournaments. With a special focus on sustainability and technology, the project includes a structure for its own organic farming and food production.”

Being the only commercial pool in America (for now), surfers have been flocking to Texas to surf at the BSR Resort since it opened a couple of years back. So we know the tech works. From Seth Moniz to Kelly Slater pretty much every pro surfer in the states (and many from around the world) are singing its praise. That said, we can’t wait to see what the Perfect Swell technology looks like at twice the size in Brazil.

More info soon.
