Florida’s Koa Bay Breaks Ground

A project in Fort Pierce, FL, is moving forward. According to multiple media reports, the project on the state’s east coast has started construction. The 204-acre park comes with a $595 million price tag. Earlier reports suggest the project will use both a Wavegarden pool and a UNIT Surf standing wave. There’s no word on an official opening date.

Update on “The Lake” Near Richmond, Virginia
Many projects claim in some way to be the largest surf-anchored destination. The Lake, a project in Chesterfield, VA, claims to be the largest surf park once completed. A new article says construction on the 105-acre project began in January. The project has been in development for nearly a decade. Older reports suggest the waves will be powered by American Wave Machines’ PerfectSwell technology. There’s no word on an official opening.
Brazil’s “Beyond the Club” Moves Closer to Opening
São Paulo’s Beyond the Club is getting closer to opening. The project is the third Wavegarden Cove in Brazil. Recently, developers shared a timelapse of the project coming together. The project is focused on a membership model and features large sand beaches and a partnership with professional surfer Filipe Toledo.
