Press Release from Surf Eye:
Ride a wave at a Wavegarden surfing lagoon, and by the time you paddle back you can watch it again. Check My Surf | Surf Eye is bringing instant video replays to the screens beside the take-off area.

Some Wavegarden surf parks already have screens at the take-off zone showing live data from the machine. Check My Surf | Surf Eye takes that experience further, the next evolution of a feature Wavegarden pioneered. Every surf park that partners with Check My Surf | Surf Eye gets two new screens, each more than four times the size, now carrying video.
What was black and white data becomes a live replay of the wave you just surfed, running next to the machine stats you already know, sharper and bigger than before.
While paddling back, surfers see:
- Instant replay of the latest set, your own wave seconds after you rode it
- Countdown to the next wave
- Wave type and take-off point
- Sets left in the session and waves left in the current set
It’s a closed-loop training system inside the lagoon. Ride a wave, watch your footage on the spot, adjust your technique, and drop into the next wave with a fresh focus. No leaving the lagoon, no begging friends to film, and no waiting until the session is over to see how you did.
The same screens give operators a massive advantage: a new revenue stream through branded content, plus the ability to push safety alerts across the lagoon the second they matter.
All of this is possible because the system is built directly into the machine. The instant replay, the countdown, your wave count, and the exact takeoff point – every feature is driven by pairing Surf Eye’s AI video with Wavegarden’s wave generation technology. That’s precisely why CheckMySurf powered by Surf Eye is the only video system capable of delivering real-time feedback right at the peak.”
“We’re all about finding ways to help surfers progress. Doesn’t matter your level, if there’s one thing we all want out of a session, it’s to get better. With these new screens right at the take-off zone, you see exactly what to adjust, and you can put it into practice on your very next wave. That’s next level,” said Josema Odriozola, Founder and CEO of Wavegarden.
“Those screens are already great, and now we’re making them sharper and smarter. Knowing when the next set is coming and what’s happening around you makes a real difference in the water, and I’ve surfed enough of these surf parks to feel it. Adding video is the obvious next step. You watch your own wave seconds after you ride it, on a screen four times bigger. We’ve tested it in the Wavegarden Lab, and it changes the session. Soon every Wavegarden surfing lagoon will have it,” said Alessandro Fracassi, Co-Founder and CEO of Surf Eye.
Built for Wavegarden. Powered by Surf Eye.
The replay screens are part of Check My Surf | Surf Eye, the Wavegarden-specific system created through Surf Eye’s partnership with Wavegarden. It is the first and only video system built specifically for Wavegarden lagoons, and the only one integrated directly into the wave generation machine.
Surf Eye now runs the largest AI camera network in the surf park industry, with 22 installations worldwide across North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
