Surfing Dreams Become Reality: Alchemy Surf Park Set to Make Waves in Northern California

Chris Gallardo, the visionary behind the Northern California wave pool project, is pursuing his passion for surfing and aims to make a positive impact through the venture. He left his job at Apple in 2020 to focus on building the surf park, named Alchemy Surf Park, which will be located in Placer County. With its proximity to the Greater Sacramento Area and the San Francisco Bay Area, Gallardo believes the region can provide a substantial customer base.

The project has gained support from the community and stakeholders, and Gallardo has secured land and is working on obtaining entitlements and permits. WaveGarden is being considered as the technology provider for the surf park, and a 56-module build is being contemplated. Gallardo aims to open the park ideally by fall 2025, but it is more likely to be operational in 2026.
