Mesa, AZ – Surf Park Central is excited to announce its most recent regional event was a huge success, bringing together leaders in the industry to help future developers lay the groundwork for their surf-anchored projects.

Attendees flew in from around the world to be part of the unique experience from March 19 to 20. Hosted at the brand new Revel Surf at Cannon Beach in Mesa, Arizona, the location is helping to inspire the next round of surf park developers. The project only recently opened its doors but stands as the perfect example of the power of surf-anchored real estate. As a center point of the project, Revel Surf is bringing in guests to the destination outside Phoenix. Along with two world-class surf pools, visitors will find restaurants, retail and more inside and outside the park.
During the Surf Park Central event, attendees heard from developers on what it took to make the project a reality, as well as conversations with city leaders who shared economic impact details of projects like Revel. Others within the industry attended to share insight and network with those curious about how to make their project a reality.

Highlights from the event included a behind-the-scenes tour of the full Revel Surf site, led by project leaders and the engineering team behind this groundbreaking project. Mesa city leaders, including the vice mayor, were present to back the project and share more details about its economic impact. Technology was also a focus of discussion with brands like Flowstate, Diversified Partners, and StarGuard Elite covering everything from AI-driven video capture to real estate development and surf park safety innovation. Finally, Surf Park Central’s heavy focus on networking allowed attendees to connect with others within the growing industry. Attendees also had the opportunity to test out the wave pools themselves to fully immerse themselves in everything the project had to offer.
Speakers included:
- Cole Cannon, President of Cannon Beach
- Matthew Gunn, Executive Director at Swell MFG, the wave technology company behind the project

While surf parks and wave pools were once unique just to the surfing community, the industry has seen record expansion with experts estimating the industry to be valued at around $4 billion today and expanding at 20%+ CAGR per year.
These real estate ventures offer developers and investors the chance to create vibrant communities where surfing is accessible to new demographics, driving economic benefits. Surf parks are a growing opportunity in mixed-use development.

With the Arizona Surf Park Development Tours in the books, Surf Park Central is now focused on an additional regional event with a stop in Munich, Germany from April 29 to 30, 2025. The Surf Park Industry Forum: Europe includes networking at the brand new SURFTOWN MUC. Speakers include local operators from parks like Lost Shores and The Wave, as well as wave technology experts from Endless Surf.
Europe is followed by Surf Park Central’s annual event which is the largest gathering of surf-anchored real estate professionals – Surf Park Summit.
