URBNSURF Melbourne turned up the stoke just in time to say see-ya to winter and hosted the Boost Mobile Winter Jam Presented by YETI on Saturday 27th August, 2022.
The Boost Mobile Winter Jam Presented by YETI blended some of Australia’s leading surf and snow athletes through a live version of Season 3 of the Rivals series in the lagoon and a winner takes all snowboard rail jam that was set up just metres away.
URBNSURF partnered with City Snow Events to deliver a custom rail jam, right on the edge of the lagoon while URBNSURF’s wave machine “Roary” provided perfect waves, delivering the ultimate mix of snow and surf all in one location.
The custom-made rail saw Sam ‘Red Dog’ Neumann steal the show. Taking home $1,000 in prize money. Neumann was followed by Snowboarding Olympian Valentino Guseli who took out second and Andy James coming in third place.
Over on The Left, Reef Heazelwood showed everyone what can be done in the URBNSURF lagoon taking out first place. Heazelwood was followed by Wade Carmichael in second place with Letty Mortensen and Jordy Lawler taking out equal third.
The event kicked on into the evening with 700 guests dancing the night away to a sunset DJ set from Dena Amy before Set Mo close the event with the final performance of their Something to Dream of Winter Tour.
Young Henrys, Hard Fizz and Red Bull served up beverages from custom bars and some of Melbourne’s best food trucks kept revelers fed.
“It was so exciting to be able to bring together the Australian board riding and music communities to celebrate a key seasonal change here at URBNSURF”, URBNSURF CEO, Damon Tudor said.
“There’s such a strong cross over between Australia’s surf and snow cultures and with amazing music thrown in the mix, it was one of the best events of the season and a great way to kick off the warmer months. We are so lucky that our event partners got behind the vision and it was incredible to see it all come to life” Tudor added.
