October Surf Park Headlines

2024 is coming to a close. This year we saw new projects break ground, while others opened their door to the public. Awareness of the world of surf parks has only grown and more celebrity spottings are bringing added attention, plus we have a look at cool events hosted by surf parks and a project update.

Prince Harry Catches Waves at Surf Ranch

Another video from Raimana Van Bastolaer at the Surf Ranch has gone viral. This time it shows Prince Harry catching waves. In the clip you see Raimana ride alongside Harry before letting go. Harry, who now resides in California, was able to catch the wave.

On the post, Raimana wrote, “In Tahiti, we still call you Prince Harry but at Surf Ranch, it’s my Brother.  It was an honor to have you surf with me.”

Waco Surf Hosts Swatch Nines

Deep in the Heart of Texas, Waco Surf hosted one of its most unique events ever. The annual Swatch Nines, which brings together professional BMX riders, skateboarders, and surfers took place this month. The event included wild aerials and a strange assortment of props, including a hamster wheel or using a crane and a pallet for a surfer to land a grind.

DSRT Surf Shares New Photos

DSRT Surf shared an update via Instagram. The project broke ground earlier this year. While the project is still very much in the early stages, it’s easy to see the Wavegarden Cove shaped pool being dug up in California’s Palm Desert.

Beach Street Development and Operations, the team behind the project, says they’re aiming to open to the public in the summer of 2026.
