Teaser version of Matt Ruzicka and Shane Beschen’s Playground Surf presentation at Surf Park Summit 2 on September 7, 2016. Matt and Shane are the Co-Founders of Playground Surf. Playground Surf presents the new and revolutionary wave pool technology called The City Wave. This deep water standing wave was inspired by the famous Eisbach River in Munich Germany and invented by Audi engineer Rainer Klimaschewski. Playground Surf is proud to present this high performance wave to the US market and show the wide range of programing capabilities that can be created to appeal to amateurs and professionals alike.

Matt Ruzicka: As the President of The Pool Company, Inc., Matt has already TRIPLED the company’s project load and manpower and he is always looking ahead. He organizes every job to maximize time, efficiency and manpower at every phase of the project and has a close relationship with all of his key employees, which allows him to be extremely confident when organizing the timing of a project. Matt understands the value of strong relationships and his pursuit of customer satisfaction is both relentless and unparalleled in the pool construction industry.
Shane Beschen: With over 30 years of involvement in the surf industry, Shane brings knowledge, experience and credibility to our team and product. As a professional Surfer, Shane competed on the WSL World Tour for 15 years and was a main rival of Kelly Slater in the mid 90’s placing 2nd in the World rankings to Kelly Slater in 1996. Since retirement, he has worked as a high performance surf coach for Red Bull, helping their elite surfer’s reach the top of their game and has also consulted for top brands such as Hurley and Neff. Noah and Koda Beschen are his two sons and they are both avid surfers looking to turn pro as they get older. The Beschen family is the perfect voice for Playground Surf as they bring the perspective of Surfing’s past and future generations.
