Wavegarden Unveils Perfect Air Section In South Korea

Is Wavegarden’s newly-created air section at Wave Park South Korea the best artificial ramp yet? After seeing clips like the one below, of La Jolla’s Jacob “Zeke” Szekely boosting a massive full-rote, superman, alley-oop and body varial, it appears the section in South Korea is at least on par with the ramp at the BSR Surf Resort in Waco, Texas. And that’s saying a lot, considering the amount of epic airs we’ve seen out of Texas these last few years.

So how did they do it? From the looks of it, the Wavegarden crew dropped a perfectly placed concrete block at the end of one of its waves, allowing surfers to drive down the line and pop off a soft, crumbly lip with as much speed as they could possibly want. The air section was the only thing really missing from the Wavegarden pools…and now they have an epic one.

We can’t wait to see this same section implemented in the other public Wavegarden facilities operating around the world. Check the clips above and below to see what’s now possible in South Korea.
