2026 will be a big year for the surf park industry. More parks are expected to open, and we’ve already seen new wave technology and new developments breaking ground. Here’s a look at some headlines that we’re following this year.
DSRT Surf Moves Forward

DSRT Surf, the Beach Street Development project near Palm Springs, is getting closer to an opening date. The team shared updated photos with Surf Park Central and told us they’re preparing to fill the Wavgarden lagoon in May. The destination is aiming to open to the public in July.
Barreled Surf Park Shares an Update

Barreled, a project in Yakima, Washington, recently spoke with the Business Journal about where that project stands. The project’s founder, Joey Lawrence, a former Surf Park Sharks contestant, told the publication, “We already have surfers in this region. We just call them skiers and snowboarders.” Next up for Barreled is securing an architect and obtaining construction permits.
Surf Loch Announces Another Wave Technology

Fresh off announcing Wavebender, long-standing wave technology Surf Loch is back with the GT100. According to the company, the technology is “for private residences, boutique resorts, and space-conscious developments, the GT100 brings ocean-inspired surfing to places once thought impossible, even indoors.” Despite the small footprint, the technology produces both left and right waves up to six feet high, with rides for up to 8 seconds.
