The international buzz surrounding the Surf Snowdonia project in Wales has been increasing as construction ebbs closer this month at Dolgarrog. The project, which will include the first ever commercial Wavegarden installation, should hopefully create favorable buzz for a project of similar scope in Bristol, known as The Wave: Bristol.
The Wave will also feature Wavegarden technology if it gets the green light this year. The South Gloucestershire Council recently scheduled a planning hearing for June 19th of this summer to address the plans set forth by The Wave UK team. If you haven’t already seen the Wavegarden technology in action, click here to watch one of the top videos showcasing their Basque Country testing facility. Or, you can watch the following short of BBC correspondent Claire Marshall getting her own go at the wave.
We’re excited to hear how things go for The Wave UK team next month, and by the prospect of another world class facility being built within the next few years. Be sure to stay tuned here for the most up-to-date information on these projects as they unfold.
