Larry Brings over 30 years of national and international development and management experience including Wai Kai, Hawaii’s first man-made surf destination where he worked with Beach Street Co-Founder, John Luff on The LineUp. Larry was the Director of Retail and Resort Development at Haseko Development for the 1,200-acre master planned development in West Oahu. The oceanfront Wai Kai project located within the overall Hoakalei resort opened in March of 2023 and includes the world’s largest deep-water standing wave, along with stand-up paddling, kayaking and other water activities on the adjacent 52-acre lagoon. The project also includes the Kitchen Door restaurant featuring a Michelin awarded chef, the LookOut restaurant offering a front-row view of the surf action, a large events lawn area, Foam Coffee & Bar and a private club on a boardwalk overlooking Hoakalei’s Wai Kai Lagoon, and Sessions retail shop geared to the waterman lifestyle.

John Luff comments, “Larry was integral in bringing Wai Kai to life. His leadership and experience will be invaluable to our projects and will strengthen Beach Street’s ability to effectively and efficiently manage pre-construction through construction and handoff to our operations team. Beach Street is uniquely positioned in this growing space and Larry is an important addition to our comprehensive real estate development management team which now comprises deep experience in every aspect of the real estate development cycle. From market analysis, site selection, technology analysis and proforma development to design management, entitlements, debt and equity financing, construction management, and operations, Beach Street’s team is highly experienced and uniquely qualified to deliver best in class projects in the rapidly growing surf park and man-made surf destination sector.  Beach Street takes great pride in our unique management capabilities which we successfully combine with significant industry and financing relationships.  We are happy to have Larry and his extensive development and construction experience as part of our team.”
