Surf Park Awards

The Winners Of The First Annual Surf Park Awards

The people, or rather surfers, have spoken. More than 2,000 votes were cast recently in the first-ever Surf Park Awards, a first-of-its-kind global consumer opinion poll focused on the most exciting surf parks and wave technologies on the planet. Consumers spoke loud and clear, with URBNSurf taking home three of the six awards. URBNSurf won the main award, “Most Appealing Destination,” as well as two others.

The awards, run alongside San Diego State University’s Center for Surf Research, were designed to gauge consumer sentiment in surf parks. It sought to answer the question, what are the best surf parks and surf park technologies in the world?

While that’s a wrap on this year’s awards, we’re continuing to gather responses for the Consumer Trends Survey. The consumer trends survey is designed to gather data on consumer habits, spending patterns, and gear essentials for surfing travelers around the world interested in visiting surf parks and wave pools. Bonus: Complete the Consumer Trends Survey and be entered to win some great prizes, including a Firewire Glazer surfboard, a session at a surf park of your choice and a one-year Surf Park Insiders membership.

We want to take this moment to thank all of this year’s Surf Park Summit sponsors and everyone involved in this year’s awards. We’re thrilled by the response of the inaugural Surf Park Awards, and are already planning on how to make it bigger and better for next year. We couldn’t have done it without everyone who was involved.
